Photography has been part of my life for more than 45 years. It has taken me to 89 countries, introduced me to extraordinary people and remarkable places, and taught me that the most meaningful photographs are rarely about what we see, they're about what we feel.

I began my journey with 35mm film cameras, learning photography the deliberate way, one frame at a time. Every exposure mattered. Every decision had purpose. That foundation shaped the way I see today and instilled an appreciation for patience, craftsmanship, and intentional image-making that continues to guide my work.

My professional career began in motorsports photography, where I learned to anticipate moments before they happened. Working in a fast-paced environment sharpened my instincts for timing, composition, and precision. As my love of travel grew, my photography naturally evolved beyond the racetrack, leading me to the quiet beauty of landscapes, weathered barns, wildflowers, wildlife, small towns, and the enduring character of the American heartland.

In 2005, I incorporated digital photography into my workflow, not as a replacement for film, but as another creative tool. Today, I work comfortably with both film and digital cameras, choosing the medium that best serves the subject. Film remains my choice when authenticity, texture, and a timeless aesthetic are essential. Digital provides the flexibility and creative freedom that certain images deserve. For me, the camera has never been the purpose,

it has always been the means to tell the story.

That philosophy became the foundation of my brand, Photography with Soul. Every photograph I create is an attempt to preserve more than a scene. I strive to capture the emotion, atmosphere, and character that made the moment worth experiencing in the first place, inviting the viewer to connect with the image on a personal level.

At this stage in my career, sharing knowledge has become just as rewarding as creating new work. I am developing educational photography videos and downloadable guides focused on photographic technique, creative process, and the art of intentional seeing. Helping others grow as photographers is another way to give back to a craft that has given me so much.
