Hello, I’m Terry—an American photographer based in Texas with over four decades of experience behind the camera. My work is rooted in craft and guided by story, focused on capturing not just what a scene looks like, but what it feels like.
I began my photographic journey more than 43 years ago shooting 35mm film, learning the medium the deliberate way—frame by frame. Motorsports photography marked the start of my professional career, sharpening my instincts for timing, precision, and movement. As my passion for travel grew, my work expanded nationally and naturally into landscape, street, and environmental portrait photography.
In 2005, I incorporated digital photography into my workflow—not as a replacement for film, but as a complementary tool. Today, I work fluidly between film and digital photography. I choose film when authenticity, texture, and a timeless aesthetic are essential. I choose digital when creative flexibility and experimentation best serve the image.
Photography, for me, is more than taking pictures. It’s about discovering the story within a moment—and revealing the meaning that exists beneath the surface.
At this stage in my career, sharing knowledge has become as important as creating new work. I will soon be releasing educational photography videos and downloadable guides focused on technique, creative process, and intentional seeing.
I look forward to connecting—whether in the field, through education, or in conversation.
